Donate Fresh Food
Donate Fresh Food - Neighbor to Neighbor
The demand and access for fresh Local food has grown twofold for those who need it most. AND, since Covid hit the fan, there is less fresh Local food to go around. That is why Hydrofresh is reaching out to the community to Donate FRESH food instead of Non-perishables. Many people who struggle with hunger also struggle with poor health. A big reason for this is lack of access to fresh produce. Neighbor to Neighbor realizes the importance of fresh produce in a healthy diet yet for N2N clients, these items can be economically out of reach. Working with local residents, farmers and suppliers, Neighbor to Neighbor is making sure their shelves are stocked with a variety of fresh produce like fruits and vegetables. They provide food assistance to the Greenwich, Stamford & Port Chester areas.
Hydrofresh will match every donation - for every head of lettuce purchased we will donate in kind. Thank you for your support!

What is Hydroponics?
Hydroponics (from Latin, “working water”) is a method of growing plants in greenhouses in nutrient rich water, without soil, only their roots submerged in the water. Seeds are planted in a soil-free growing medium like gravel, and after 2 weeks, when the seedlings have developed a root system, they are transferred to beds full of running water, where they grow until ready to be harvested.

HYDROPONIC FARMING

CLEANER
No dirt, mud or dust. No insects and worms. Just clean vegetables that you can eat straight from the pack.

FREE FROM PESTICIDES / HERBICIDES RESIDUES
Cleaner vegetables, with no unwanted chemicals residues. Our produce complies with FDA requirements.

LONGER SHELF LIFE
Hydroponic vegetables will last longer. Not only are they cleaner to begin with, the fact that we do not wash our produce further lengthens shelf life.

HIGHER QUAILITY
No weather damage to plants, no dry leaves or defects, means fewer waste for you.
